The California Air Resources Board (CARB) just granted the all-new Ford C-MAX Energi Plug-in Hybrid access to Green Clean Air Vehicle Stickers, allowing drivers access to the state?s high-occupancy vehicle lanes.
Ford?s new electrified people hauler joins a select group of vehicles eligible for these stickers including the Chevrolet Volt, Honda Fit EV and Toyota Prius Plug-in.
In an attempt to help electric vehicles gain market share, the Government helps C-MAX Energi buyers obtain discounts. State and federal tax credits totaling $5,250 are available to people that buy or lease one for at least 36 months. Breaking it down, that?s a $1,500 rebate from California and $3,750 from Uncle Sam.
The new C-MAX Energi Plug-in Hybrid delivers 21 miles of pure electric driving and a combined fuel-economy rating of 100 miles per gallon equivalent.? This Michigan-built electric launches in 42 markets late this fall.? Look for it at Ford dealerships across the United States early next year.
